Ever had trouble choosing the right gift for a reasonable amount of money? Sometimes it’s tough to find the right one without paying an astounding amount of bucks for it. It’s more than frustrating when you find the perfect present for your loved ones, but you can’t buy it without breaking your bank! This holiday season, you won’t have to. You can enjoy the thrill of shopping for your favorite people–but on a budget.

The first stop of the frugal Christmas shopping trip is the thrift store. Trust me on this one, I buy most of my clothing from Goodwill and The Salvation Army and still manage to look presentable (most of the time). Many thrift stores are overlooked when gift shopping because it’s assumed people don’t want to receive used items for Christmas. Although there may be some truth to that, some of the most unique, creative, and inexpensive pieces are found at the thrift store! From funky accessories to one-of-a-kind vinyl records and gaudy decor, you’ll be sure to find at least one cool gift for your special someone.

Other places to shop frugally for presents this winter include outlet stores, such as TJ Maxx or the Tanger Outlet. Though they are not as cheap as thrifting, the products are unused and marked down from the original retail price. These are great places to look when you’re clothes shopping or even toy shopping. TJ Maxx also has a connected store called Home Goods with a plethora of items you can use all over your home and for good prices too.

Another tip for shopping frugally this winter is to clip coupons and research deals and discounts for stores near you. Some of my favorite online coupon apps are “Groupon” and “Honey.” On Groupon, you can find coupons to many stores. Honey is an extension you can add to your internet browser, and it automatically calculates all of the coupons and discounts applicable to your online purchase. Both of these installations have helped me to save money, and I’d recommend them to anyone.
