From at home computers to self-driving cars, CES has it all. It is a show put on by the Consumer Technology Association, and has been held annually since 2004. This year’s convention took place in Las Vegas and held over a hundred thousand developers and entrepreneurs. CES is a technology showcase where companies are able to show off their technological innovations. This includes small starter companies all the way to tech giants such as Google, Amazon, and Intel.

Large companies such as these often put on presentations to dazzle the consumers.

This year’s CES presentation included some of the latest tech trends, including self driving cars, smart AI robotic intelligence, and even virtual reality. One of the major goals which these companies aimed to achieve was connectivity between hardware and humans. Essentially everything is getting “smarter” and more interactive with everyday life. There were even augmented reality workout systems, such as the Black Box VR system, which allows for the user to workout while playing games.

Other innovative feats included UV ray sensing systems which can pair with a smartphone to remind you to put on sunscreen, virtual reality to help with opiod addiction, and wearable airbags for the elderly (and their hips). With the inclusion of new gadgets in the medical community, inventors look to make the world a safer place.

While some of this may not be available for private purchase in the near future, people are truly able to see where the world is headed. This show is ultimately designed to demonstrate what is possible, and to challenge the people within this community to strive further.
