While in the mood for Mexican food, a friend and I went to El Burrito Loco, an authentic Mexican restaurant in Grand Rapids. Immediately after walking in, we were greeted under a canopy of leaves while surrounded by Mexican decorations that made the spacious restaurant more inviting.

We were offered a menu that had many options ranging from burritos, tacos, and quesadillas, to salads, soups, and shrimp. I ordered “La Superior” which was two beef burritos that came with a side of rice and beans. The meal was a good serving size, which explained the price of $11. It wasn’t too spicy, which is a good factor for those who have a low tolerance for spicy food. Overall, the meal was good and filling, but nothing spectacular.

The service was fast as well as friendly. There were about three other groups there with more to arrive as the dinner hour progressed. El Burrito is a great family place to eat, but is also a fun place to take a group of friends.

There was a large bar inside of the restaurant which offered a variety of different drinks. My friend and I didn’t order anything at the bar, but I’m sure it would have been as satisfactory as the food.

El Burrito is located off of the East Beltline in Grand Rapids. It’s hidden behind a Meijer and Wendy’s, so its location isn’t the easiest to find. Those who have experienced it before have been sure to return.
