Sammi Blair

Sammi Blair may be short in stature, but she isn’t lacking anywhere else. As a 17-year-old senior, she has her whole life ahead of her.

A stellar student and a star athlete in her sport of soccer, Blair’s plans for college aren’t set in stone. Northern Michigan is one of her top options for both school and soccer.

Blair has had a lot of role models, but her biggest is her dad, “My dad is the person I look up to the most because of what he has accomplished. He is always there for everyone and genuinely cares about you no matter who you are.”

Blair’s dad has taught her to “let the little things go because they have no relevance to the bigger picture.” She lives by this creed every day and is a truly free spirit.

As her personal driver to soccer, “He has never misses a game.” He has become her biggest supporter and always has her back.

Not only has her dad been a huge support in her life, but the rest of her family is very important to Blair as well. In fact, the quote that is most important to her is a quote from her grandma that she would say during chemotherapy.

The quote comes from Philippians 4:13 - “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

Her family roots are deep and her favorite traditions are with her family. “Every Christmas Eve after church everyone makes a dish and there is a big potluck in the family.”

Blair is a truly well-rounded person and is caring, considerate, and amiable, and is definitely someone I am glad to call my friend.
